Managing Director - Stuart McFarlane

Stuart is a self-motivated, hands on and tenacious person who likes a challenge and has the desire to help people find solutions to their business or organisational issues by taking an open and objective approach and looking for opportunities. He is a creative thinker, fosters change, embraces collaboration, a team builder and is committed to promoting the adoption and use of new and different technologies and the benefits it brings both personally and within businesses.

Stuart McFarlane has an extensive portfolio of business skills and experience that has been gained over the past 30 years working in both private sector and public sector organisations and running his own businesses. He has gained a wide knowledge base through a varied career in some of the top global technology companies and in economic development in the public sector in the following areas – account & financial management, sales & marketing, product & project management, training & team management.

Operating at management and senior levels in a number of companies, he is very well networked and has managed relationships at PLC Board and Chief Exec levels in both private & public sector organisations and with ministers in Government Departments.

He has been the Chair of Governors at a Technology College and has held a number of board member and non-executive director roles in various private and public companies. He is currently a Director of another business consultancy, sits on the Industry Advisory Panel for the Yorkshire Content Fund run by Screen Yorkshire that invests money into TV & Film production in the Yorkshire & Humber region and also a Monitoring Liaison Officer for Innovate UK, (Technology Strategy Board) reviewing financial investment in innovation projects run by UK companies.

A musician in his spare time and a qualified Coach and Mentor and a member of the ILM -Institute of Leadership & Management, IOD -Institute of Directors and Musicians Union.


Associate Director - Penny Bedford

Penny is a self-motivated, enthusiastic and positive person, who blends her creative and commercial backgrounds to help businesses and individuals develop their skills. With a background in drama, music and teaching, she has extensive knowledge and experience in getting the best out of her pupils, delegates, coachees and colleagues.

A qualified coach, mentor and trainer, she has delivered many workshops and 1:1 training.

She has business, management and administration experience, as she has spent many years working in tourism and passenger transport, managing /supervising teams and dealing with the public/customers.

After completing her formal education at 21 years old, Penny set up and ran a successful touring theatre company for 3 years in her native Teesside and then moved to London to attend Drama School. She followed this with acting work in theatres within the capital and then seasons with touring theatre companies in diverse productions from Shakespeare to pantomime, under her Equity stage name of ‘Penny-Anne Bedford’.

She is a musician, song writer and performer in the Yorkshire music scene.
